Boxing Bout
Peter Graham, of Gisborne, made a successful comeback as a professional boxer when he knocked out Stan Bliss, of Mount Maunganui, in the ninth round of a 10-round bout fought in the Opera House before a packed audience.
Graham already had the bout well in hand on points before Bliss tossed in the sponge.
Graham declared winner by referee Harry Swann.
Just before the count: Graham punishing Bliss on the ropes.
Typical incident: Bliss ducking to avoid Graham's snappy left.
