Retailers' Conference Held at Gisborne

One of New Zealand's largest and most important conferences, that of the Retailers' Federation, was held at Gisborne early last month. The conference, extending over several days, was held in the new War Memorial Hall. Delegates were made welcome by the Gisbome-East Coast Retailers' Association, which, with Hawkes Bay, were hosts, and the smooth organisation of the programme assured the federation of one of its best conferences to date. Off-duty, delegates and their wives were entertained at a number of enjoyable functions.

One of the most enjoyable outings was an evening one to the Chalet Rendezvous at Wainui Beach. This picture shows guests on the patio.
