Slip in the North

Earlier in August, just before the big slip at Waikokopu came down, residents of the Tauwhareparae district, back of Tolaga Bay, found themselves virtually isolated by a landslide which carried away about 10 chains of the road and temporarily blocked the Mangahei River.

These photographs, taken three weeks later, show the temporary road built across the slip, immediately past Mr R. M. McNeill's residence.
