CONGRATULATIONS

SOCIAL GROUP CELEBRATE ALL OCCASIONS

A group of friends who meet every week, to play cards and who take every opportunity to celebrate birthdays and anniveraries at different places, met for lunch at The Balcony the Restraunt with Altitude. The occasion was Barbara MacGregor's 68th Birthday.

DIPLOMA IN VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS

Jimmy Hills, son of Olive and Brian Hills, was educated at Cobham, Gis. Intermediate and Gisborne Boys' High Schools. The 3 year ChCh Polytech course developed design and production skills in two and three-dimensional imagery for advertising, publishing and display.

50th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Joyce and Colin Browne of Wairoa recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at them Bushmere Arms with their sisters and some of their 2 daughters, 6 sons, 18 grand children and 7 (almost 8) great grand children. They ran the Frasertown General Store for 13 years before moving to the McLean Street Store in Wairoa where they traded for a further 26 years. Colin was a Charter Member of the Wairoa Lions and recently retired as President of the Wairoa County Club. Joyce has been involved in the catering trade for many years. The Browne family has a long history in the area. Great Grandfather James "Snyder" Browne (1821-85) was editor of the Poverty Bay Standard, then what became the Poverty Bay Herald in the late 1870's.

CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS STUDIES

June Foster, aunty to Jimmy Hills, who was educated in Te Awamutu, passed with Distinction a comprehensive programme which focused on computer based business systems. June and Jimmy have Ngati Porou connections and were studying at the Chch Polytechnic.

MANN ~ FURLAN

Stephen and Kay were married over the Summer of 1995 and are living in Gisborne. They were attended by Nigel Patterson, Emma Furlan, Stephen Mann, Gael Richardson and Heidi Furlan.

WALLBANK ~ COLLINS

Alan and Tangi were married in March 1996 and were attended by Joanne Kawenga (left) and Geoff Braybrooke with Natalie Schumacher and Dr Bill Sutton (right)

DOUGLAS ~ CAMERON

Rosie, daughter of Alison and the Late Eric Crawford married Stephen, son of Rosalie and Allan Douglas at their home in March 1996. They were attended by Giverny Smith, Craig Williams, Rachel Crawford and Rose Crawford.
