POST OFFICE DEPOT CLOSING DOWN DO

There was a formal closing of the Kahutia Street Depot due to the restructuring of Telecom and its consolidation into the Telephone Exchange Building in Reads Quay. The party was a chance for all former staff to get together and reminisce about "the old days" From the PNT to the Post Office to Telecom Corp Ltd NZ to the present day Telecom. "The Yard" housed all the cable gear, poles, etc and workshop facilities required to service the district.
