National Council of Women of New Zealand

The National Council of Women was founded in 1896. The first President was Kate Sheppard. For 100 years the Council has worked with women for the full and free development of all people. Leigh Gibbs was the guest speaker at a Centennary Breakfast held at the Paris Bar.

Muriel Jones was presented with Life Membership by Sheila Burland. Muriel who prides herself on knowing "what's going on" was taken by surprise. A delighted Muriel Jones joins Peggy Koia and Frances Gregory who are also Life Members.
