Photographed by Bruce Nixon (Dunstan & Kinge Photographers) as the replica of the Bark Endeavour sailed into Poverty Bay on 19-1-96 to be met by a flotilla of water craft. For many it was a step back in time, a rare glimpse of our heritage. Cook's 1st "world tour" opened the way for our present European cultural influences.
