CHEF ¼ MARATHON
The 13th annual Chef Quarter Marathon was both a fun thing, for family participation, or a sprint for the serious committed runner. Approximately 650 starters found this years race fairly pleasant due to the overcast conditions. All credit to the Gisborne Runners & Walkers Club who organised and ran the event with Best Friend Petfoods the major sponsors..
Shirley Kemp gave her Al Jolson impersonation with hands and arms moving in all directions for the camera.
The start of a race is critical. Being on the front line is essential for the serious runners.
Super athlete Rocky Hall anticipated Ron Robertson's signal for the start of the race.
More than 700 started, the majority of whom were content to do their thing, at their pace.
