GISBORNE MOTORS FORD
Poverty Bay Open

The Gisborne Motors Ford Poverty Bay Open, played on one of the oldest golf courses in New Zealand, was won (in its 101st year) by 19yr old Poverty Bay Club player David Solomann. David played a truly golf focused game. He won the first 3 holes, forcing his opponent, Bryan Megson (Titirangi), to play catch up golf. Dean Twigley added to the local Junior successes by winning the 3rd Sixteen Final on the 17th.

David Solomann who has played consistent representative golf for the past 4 years was delighted with his win. "...definitely a highlight" of his career.

David who went to school at Riverdale, Gisborne Intermediate & Gisborne Boys' High forced the pace. His determination to get on with the business of playing golf was evident as he strode it out between shots.
