Stage 11

Stage 1 of the Cosmopolitan Club's growth was the move from Peel Street to the present site in Grey Street costing approximately $1.5 million. Stage 2 is now completed with more than $2million spent on additions and renovations.

The club now has a very large entertainment area with a dance floor infront of the upgraded stage with backstage facillities, a smokefree lounge, a gymnasium, updated restaurant facilities, large dining area and a beer garden.

Stage 3 is still in the planning stages. It is envisioned that a motel complex will compliment these magnificent faciIlities. The club has acquired sufficient land to begin to build as finance becomes available. Club President, Ray Mitchell, acknowledged the efforts of all concerned who have made the Cosmopolitan Club one of the finest entertainment centres in the district. He was proud to be able to say that with very few exceptions the work was carried out by local businesses. The club with approximately 3900 members is looking towards the year 2000 with optimism.
