The Peace Shield has been played for since 1920 & was created to celebrate the 1918 declaration of peace. It was won in 1995 by the Kahutia Team of John Penny Skip (right), Maurie Eagle 3, John Bates 2 & John O'Sullivan (Lead) who beat Bede McLLoughlin's Poverty Bay Club Team 16-12 in a see saw game decided on the final end.
The Late George McFarlane who was a dedicated member of the Kaiti Bowling Club.
The George McFarlane Memorial Junior Classic Pairs Tournament held at the Kaiti Bowling Centre is the only one in the calendar for under five year bowlers in this centre. It was won in January, 1995 by the Kahutia pair of Gary Tocker (left) & Bill Swann.
