FAREWELL

Jim Joyce retired from teaching after 32 years association with Kaiti School. His last duty was to assist at the annual Prize Giving. Jim also taught at Mangateretere (Hastings), Tokamaru Bay (7 years) & a year at Waikirikiri School. As a dedicated Latter Day Saint Jim has held senior positions within the Church including District President & Secretary to Stake President. He has served on many other committees including the Turanganui Maori Festival Committee & is the Treasurer for the Aronui Tumua (the Maori Branch of NZEI) Jim, in his farewell speech, said that he"...enjoyed the spirit of the children at Kaiti..." & his plea was for parents to "fully support the children while at school."
