200 anglers took part in this contest sponsored by Sportsworld Great Outdoors Centre with prizes going to (Left to Right): Bob 'Hapuka' Clay (3rd 30.2kgs), Jay Woodford (mystery weight prize), Hilton 'Bass' Webb (Heaviest Hapuka 48.4kgs), Robert Moran (top Junior 12.6kgs and winner of average weight prize). Sponsor Ian Penny from Sportsworld is kneeling at left and Eric Mormon (2nd 39kgs) on the right.

It was the "Country Guns" against the "City Slickers" in a Sportsworld exhibition match played at the Ormond Tennis Club. The Country Guns from Ormond (Meto Snegirev and Mark Robertson) defeated their city counterparts Chad Parsons and Mike Owen.
