Kaumatua Ball

Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu was the honoured guest at the Kaumatua Ball held at Rongopae Marae. It was not her first time in Tairawhiti and it was with joy and gladness that she was able to attend this noteable function because her ancestor Mahinarangi came from this district to later marry her Waikato male ancestor Turongo. It was to Te Arikinui Te Atairangikaahu that the Kaumatua were presented.
