GOLF NEWS

The Poverty Bay team which competed in the Tower Inter-Provincial Tournament in Wanganui gave some of the "big guns" a real fright in the first couple of days. Accolades poured out from the media as top rated Wellington & Canterbury almost succumbed to the PB team in difficult conditions. An outstanding effort which pulled PB up from the bunkers of NZ golf and placed them firmly on the greens in a tournament which is the highest level for amateurs. Unfortunately, as the conditions improved PB/EC did not, finishing 15th after a great start
