FLYING CAMP

Sponsored by Shell NZ, No 14 Squadron City of Gis borne Air Training Corp. took part in a flying camp at Jock Fraser's property, Whatatutu. Flight Lieutenant Gould brought a Cessna 150 from Ohakea for the camp and each cadet had half an hours "hands on" flying experience. As well as coming to grips with camping, the cadets received instruction in compass and map work, the use of firearms, cooking, out-door persuits and digging latrines! This group do their share of "square bashing", turning out for civic occasions such as the 225th Cook celebrations.
