Maori Sports Awards
The 1st Turanganui-a-Kiwa Maori Sports Awards, was held at the Gisborne Hotel where a very receptive audience consisting of Runanga Trustees, Kaumatua, sponsors and representatives of a wide range of all the sporting codes in Gisborne enjoyed listening to guest speakers Waimarama Taumaunu, Stan Pardoe, Chairman of Te Runanga [Runanga] o Turanganui a Kiwa and Derek Fox, Editor of Mana Magazine who was also the MC for the evening. The overall success of the event assures us of a repeat evening next year.
