Miss Eastland 1994

The Miss Eastland Pageant was a spectacular event hosted by Stewart Dwight. The full house was held until midnight with non stop brackets of entertainment allowing the judges time to consider carefully before announcing Miss Gisborne Hotel, Varnya Brown, as Miss Eastland.

These young ladies could have been mistaken for contestents, however they were the ushers who assisted people to find their seats & answered questions as required. From the left: Rachell Warren, Jess Geor, Kalleigh Walters, Sarah Bruce, Anna Spun & Grace Boyle.

Miss Woolworths, Tineke Brown, received enthusiastic support from the audience when she was onstage. Tineke was one of the final 5.

Miss Gisborne Hotel, Varnya Brown, responded to the warm reception offered to her by the audience as she made her way to line up with the final 5.

Varnya was crowned, sashed, laden with flowers, presented with the trophy & given a complimentary bottle of bubbly by Lois Allen representing Nutrimetics, the major sponsor.

Miss Eastland 1993, Heidi Bodle was the first to congratulate Varnya.

15 beautiful ladies each sponsored by a business, lined up with their escorts. Each contestant was included in the early parades which included swim wear, casual & formal attire. Who would want to be a judge?
