NZ Farm Education Training Association

held an awards night at the Racecourse. This year there are 32 cadets doing their Trade Certificate and a further 33 doing a Farm Business Management course. FETA encourages young people into a farming career which according to guest speaker at the dinner, Ian Kirkpatrick, is "the backbone of the country." Hamish Williams (Right) representing the J.N. Williams Memorial Trust, sponsors of the top cadets to Outward Bound, presented Cia Neilson with her trip to Outward Bound. Cia works for Bob Wishart at Whakarau and as well as winning a trip to Outward Bound she also won the Farmlands award for top 1st Year Cadet.
