MEMORIAL SHIELD

Gene Paul Hills who was born and raised in the Gisborne District, attending Riverdale, Boys High School and Waikohu College, was tragically killed in an accident 1 year after he left his job at Woolworths to join the army. Gene played soccer locally and it is in his honour that the NZ Army initiated the Gene Hills Shield, to be presented to the winning team in the Company Soccer Tournament.
