Ngatapa School seem to have mastered the skills of writing short stories as 3 of the 4 monthly McDonald's Young Writers of the Month for 1994 have been from this small rural school. John Annabell & Kaye Barnett from McDonald's were proud to congratulate Mark Peard (left), Erica Wallace & Gemma Hayward for their winning stories.

Rowena Kaa is looking for sponsorship to continue her successful BMX competitive career. With more than 100 trophies including medals taking pride of place in the family living room Rowena has the potential to have a crack at the World Championships. Rowena started racing when she was Just 4½ yrs old, coming 3rd in a 5 and under race, at the Tauranga BMX Club. She has consistently held the NZ No 1 or No 2 place from an early age. The 1994 National Trophy slipped from her grasp when, as the favourite for the title, her chain broke in the final.
