POVERTY BAY AND EAST COAST BADMINTON ASSOC. INC.

There are 3 main Badminton Clubs in Gisborne, Gisborne and Racquets who play at the Badminton Centre and Patutahi, with around 200 players enjoying the competition and company in excellent facilities for a very reasonable yearly subscription. Representative teams travelled away recently and from the Under 16 team competing in Palmerston North at the Pascal Street Stadium, 15 year old Lexi Cheyne

won the Fairplay award sponsored by Coca- Cola. This was a great achievement as only 3 awards were made at the tournament. Lexi has been playing since she was 10 and has a bright future in Badminton. New members are very welcome and anyone interested in the sport can contact Mattie Allan on 868 1475.
