BROWNS BEACH Fishing Competition

Fishing is considered to be one of the most popular sports in NZ and despite the less than ideal conditions, 186 official entries plus plenty of youngsters having a go, made the Gisborne Surfcasters Club Competition, held at Browns Beach, a success. The very social oriented club was incorporated in 1974 covering the area from north of the Wairoa River to Te Kaha including Lottin Point the "Eldarado" of NZ fishing areas.
