For the Poverty Bay under 13 Representative Soccer Team the National Division 1 Tournament held in New Plymouth was an outstanding success. On their way to winning the Tournament and promotion to Premier Division, Poverty Bay defeated Northland, Southland, Eastern Bay of Plenty, Western Bay of Plenty, Rotorun and Marlborough. Sarah Olding is Lead Vocalist with the Youth for Christ Y-One Touring Team. She is spending a year on tour visiting secondary and intermediate schools as well as singing on the weekly concert programme each Saturday night.

Nine year old Michelle Stichbury has been Tap dancing since she was 5 under the tutelage of Gill Clout. At the Gisborne Ballet Group Competitions in July, Michelle collected four trophies including a Scholarship for Tap under 12

Boys High cricketer Mark Jefferson is a member of the NZ development squad. Mark is also a Poverty Bay Senior Cricket Representative and a member of the Northern District under 18 team.
