Active historian and Honorary Museum Photographer Ivan Hughes with his wife Stephanie, presented to Museum Director Pricilla Thompson, their book of a Photographic Record of the main business area 1993. The Book of more than 200 photos with negs are a result of the team.

In October 1992 the NZ Film Archive, in conjunction with the Bank of New Zealand, conducted the first major search in the nation wide Last Film Search project. Pictured above is Jane Poole co-ordinating at the BNZ Gisborne as the search extends to the East Coast region.
