N Z Champion swimmer Julie McLaughlin with parents John and Lorraine prior to her leaving for the USA where she will be studying at the Louisiana State University for 5 years. Julie has recently represented N Z in Australia and Japan.

Waikohu College and AFS student Colin Clifton has returned from a year in Los Angeles. Biking from Canada to L.A. in 8 days following Graduation was a highlight of Colin's stay.

Tamra MacKevics (Left) is off to Norrtlje, Sweden for a year as an AFS student, while Jennie Cooper will make Witchita, Kansas her home for the next year. Tamra and Jennie are students at Gisborne Girls High School.

Wainui Raiders looking very proud of their unbeaten run for the 1993 soccer season. The Raiders are from the left Bobby Hansen, Andrew Gordon, Ian Dodgsun, Frazer Elliott, Ben Gloyn, Dylan Pickering, Paul Williams and Matthew Probert. These lucky seven year olds were coached by Wainui mum Leigh Pickering.

Mark Van Wyk receives his certificater from Gisborne M P Wayne Kimber for completing stage 2 of the 3 stages that will qualify him as a carpenter. Mark is one of the first to put himself through the new Appentice process at Tairawhiti Polytechnic.

Gina Cheri daughter of Sarah and Fred Puki of Ormond Road, Gisborne, received her Bachelor of Arts (English) at the Curtain University, Perth, Australia. Gina attended Gisborne schools to School Cert, level. Gina now resides at Wolfson College, Oxford in the United Kingdom.

Rhonda, daughter of Alex and Glenys Niven has graduated B. Sc. and B. Con. A P Sc. from Otago University. Rhonda is now studying Environmental Health in Wellington.
