Young Achievers

Esther Reedy, 2nd Dan, double medallist and N Z team member in the Pacific Rim Judo Championships where she won Bronze Medals in the Womens Under 66 kg and the Womens Open. She is the daughter of Teena and Mo Reedy and currently lives in Portugal.
Mellissa Jones, 1st Dan, is the current N Z Senior Womens Open Judo Champion. Mellissa is the daughter of Kerry and Nigel Jones and she lives in Gisborne.

Renee Peipi at 15 years demonstrates the elegance and grace of an accomplished Ballerina. Renee is a pupil of Dianne Logan's School of Dance and was choosen to compete in the Nationals in the 15 to 21 age group.

Tony Willson and Craig Callaghan were invited to compete in the Gallagher Insultimber Fencing competition at the National Field Days at Mystery Creek. These young Poverty Bay fencers came out on top and received a $1000 cheque and a trophy as first prize.

Gordon Jon Thompson with his father Gordon at Harvest Wines. Gordon Jon has represented N Z in the Under 19 All Whites playing in Australia, Tahiti and Dubhai. He has also played in The National League for Gisborne City. Gordie is currently studying at Waikato University.

McDonalds personality Tracy Farmer handed out another Young Writer of the Month Award to Gisborne Intermediate pupil Joelene Clark. With them is Intermediate Principal Kevin Gooch.

Michael Goddard, Andrew Freeth and Nicki Davies understanding of maths was evident when they became the Regional finalists representing the Eastland District in the game called 24.
