Gisborne City Gym

With a membership of over 500, the Gisborne City Gym owned by Tracey Clissold and Leana Moleta continues to be a popular centre for young and old who enjoy keeping fit. In pleasant surroundings between 230 and 250 people a week exercise doing Step Reebok while others work out on the modern equipment.

Endeavour Lioness Club Projects Convenor Coralie Hicks with President Dianne Robinson presented to Janice Hobbs of Gisborne East Coast Cancer Society a Sharp 34 Video TV. The Lioness Club raised funds by Catering for functions, holding afternoon teas at Ulverstone and numerous raffles. Janice Hobbs accepted the donation which will be available for use in patients homes and for educational purposes.

It was one of those early morning raids by Sun City Lions to kidnap and hold for ransom 89 FM morning host, Mike Baird The ladies were raising funds for Camp Quality which is associated to Child Cancer.

Country Womens Institutes have adopted Health Camps as a project. The Eastern Bay of Plenty Institute has supported this area as children from there attend the Gisborne Health Camp.
The ladies pictured brought a van load of goodies which they have been collecting for over 12 months. All monetary donations will be spent on confidence equipment.
