COUNTRY WOMENS' INSTITUTE

A meeting of the Poverty Bay Federation was held recently in the Baptist Church, Waverly Street. Two long serving members, Nelda McKinnon of the Makaraka Matawhero Institute and Pat Hall from the Rakauroa Institute were presented with their Good Service Badges. In keeping with the work of the Institute, a parcel of groceries was donated to the Community Food Bank.

The mood of the meeting was joyous and the singing spontaneous.

A group of members had organised a short play concerning a bus trip to an Institute meeting. The ladies had put a lot of effort into their costumes and provided a humorous end to a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
