Superb Record

Philip Robinson is ending his last year at Auckland's King's College on a very high note indeed — not only on a scholastic level but on the athletic level as well. Philip has broken innumerable records during his years at King's. Because of the depth of athletics participation at Kings the college has three levels of records. Championship (in which records are set and broken in the actual college championships), school records (for the best times/distances set by a King's student at any secondary schools competition), and open records (set at any open competition, for example at the Auckland Athletic Centre meetings).

He has held more than 25 records (most of them in the 100 to 400 metres range) and still holds the secondary schools record for the junior 400m at 53.5s, and the senior 400m at 49.9s. Philip, who is the son of Mr and Mrs Peter Robinson, Belgium Terrace, will attend Auckland University next year in the pursuance of a science degree.
