Society's Success

Purcell's sweet sound of "Dido And Aeneas" surrounded the large crowd of music lovers as the Gisborne Choral Society presented this work in the Girls High School Hall on June 7. The opera, in three acts, gave opportunity to many voices and those heard in solo roles included Alison Thompson, Carolyn Arapeta, Patricia Gleeson, Elizabeth Cook, Mary Sharpies, Helen Olliver, Robina Rangi, Derek Allan, David Florance, and Pam Peters ('cello).
