Trophies '74

The trophies for the 1974 boxing season were presented by the president and committee members of,the Gisborne Boxing Association at the association's end-of-season "do." This annual function is always enjoyed by both the executive and members of the club.

Francis Hongara receives the Wally Jonasen Memorial trophy for Gisborne's best performed boxer from association president Colin Whelan.

Mr Joe Sharp congratulates D. Tuhoe on winning the Howe cup for the gamest loser.

P. Brown receives the Durston cup for the most improved novice from Mr Ron Durston.

Gary Le Bas is presented with the Lysant Clayton cup for the most scientific boxer by Mr Whelan.

C. Carlyle receives the Hacche cup for best novice from Mr Mick Proudfoot.

Mr Jim Hongara presents Francis Hongara with the Corson cup for the most outstanding boxer of the season.

Mr Mai Watt presents the O'Connell cup to R. McLeod. This cup is for the most outstanding junior.

R. Waru takes the Whelan Bros cup, for the best all-round boxer, from Mr Greg Fawcett.
