Rubbish in the Bay

Sponge Bay, between Gisborne and Wainui, is a photogenic little inlet, aS the picture above shows, but it seems destined to suffer a sad fate.

In time it will be the city's sewerage outfall.

And of late, as seen in this picture, it has become a dumping-ground for refuse.

Awake to such defilation, the Harbour Board has threatened to prosecute future offenders.
