A Y's Men's Project
"Camp Williams," a popular resort for adult and youth groups alike, is now well known by a large number of Gisborne families. The spacious two-storey dwelling, quietly set among 14 acres of established trees and shrubs, was purchased in 1963, for use as a camp site, with the assistance of the late Mr A. B. Williams. The property is being progressively re-developed for this particular purpose by the Gisborne Y's Men's Club, a branch of the world-wide organisation of Y.M.C.A. service clubs. Most of the finance for the project has been donated by the Arnold Williams and Heathcote Beale Memorial Trust.

Tidying up is just about completed in this photograph. Note the beautiful bush in which the camp is situated. (Pix from Arthur Skillen).
