Successful Fair

A very successful fund-raising fair was organised by the Gisborne Art Gallery and Museum recently. Hundreds of people were on hand before the fair opened, to take advantage of the tremendous bargains on offer.

The produce stall is hidden from sight as customers queue up to get at the goodies on sale inside the art gallery.

Cars were parked up and down Stout Street in a number never seen before.

Six members of the Gisborne Skating Club were selected to take part in the national championships, which were held in Christchurch recently. The girls all performed well, with Judith Crosby gaining a number of placings. From left, Judith Crosby (1st pre-intermediate ladies' figures, 3rd pre-intermediate free skating, 2nd overall pre-intermediate, and also selected for the New Zealand national training squad), Judy Lister (3rd primary girls' figures), Jane Duske, Carolyn Folca, Robyn Haisman and Julie Madden.
