All In The Preparation

As part of a social studies project the children of standards one and two at the Central School prepared and cooked a hangi. This age-old method of Maori cooking was studied in depth, so to speak, and the end result produced a succulent meal for the two classes.

Plenty of peelings from some of the kumaras are dealt with by, from left, Lyn Johnstone, Janine Quigley, Heather Hastie, Lauren Chalmers and Jacqueline Fitzgerald.
