Shandy, a miniature white poodle, belonging to Mrs I. Henry, 208A Ormond Road, had five pups recently. This is quite a big litter for a mini-poodle. They usually average three and sometimes four. The pups are held here by Marcia Henry, while mother Shandy looks nonchalantly on.

"Khirkie," a dog of a player, is getting ready for the footy season and is seen here getting in a bit of ball placement practice. "Khirkie" is now living at number one, Rugby Street, and is out every day on his training runs.

Keeping the birds away from Bruce Hansen's vineyard is Maurie Bickford. Although, of course, his work was reduced to zero when the recent rains came. The negative for this picture was found up the Waingake Valley.
