Retiring at the end of this month after 22 years with the City Council bus service is driver John Stein of 19 Norman Road. Apart from driving on all the runs John will be most remembered as the driver on the airport service.

New teacher-in-charge at the I. H. C. Kahutia school is Mr Fred Bignell. Mr Bignell, who replaces Mr Churton who left at the end of last year, previously taught at Te Karaka.

Off on transfer to Palmerston North, where he will be area representative, is Bruce Mitchell of E. W. Pidgeon & Co. He is pictured with his wife Janice and their children Linda and Graeme. Janice has been typist for Photo News for nine years.

McKenzie's new manager is Fred Kennedy. He has transferred from Tokoroa where he was manager for 15 months.

Off to the New Hebrides for an expected three years is builder Peter Phin, with his wife Jenny, and family Dianne and Ian. Peter is to work on a project of church and school buildings for the Presbyterian-Church there.
