Diamond Rally
This year of grace, 1970, is also the Diamond Jubilee of Guiding in New Zealand. A rally of Guides and Brownies from throughout the Guide Province was held at the Intermediate School grounds where demonstrations of various activities, and songs and dances were given.

Marie Ash-well, Fleur Ciprian, Colleen Snook, Colleen Lynch and Gillian Knowles of Turanganui won the competition for tent raising.
Penny Young and Rosalyn Glass of Elgin Company gave a demonstration of flag breaking.
Miss R. Bunt, Provincial Commissioner, declared the rally open.
