Lucky People

A presentation of a cheque for $2750 (which was the residue from the successful Jaycee raffle which provided a new bus for the Intellectually Handicapped Children Society last year) enabled the I.H.C. Society to provide a swimming pool for the society's hostel. This is a marvellous amenity for the I.H.C. people as not only hostel people, but also people attending the training centres, will be able to use the pool.

The pool is 40 feet long, 15 feet wide and 2'9" deep.

At the opening ceremony – Jaycee president Trevor Caley, project convenor Peter Hutchings and I.H.C. Society vice-president Norm Davies.

Three Jaycees (from left in the pool) held an opening race with people from I.H.C. The Jaycees are Don Thorbum, Brian Shields and Morris Bramwell).
