Roving Camera

Young David Garrett, 12, son of Mr and Mrs F. W. Garrett, Stout Street, was winner of a contest run by the Bank of New South Wales and Station 2ZG to find a boy as much like Nicholas Young as possible. He earned a trip to Wellington, where he appeared on TV, met top political figures, and fired a cannon from the steps of Wellington Museum, He is seen above with a replica of the crest of HMNZS "Wakefield" which he visited while in Wellington.

One of the most interesting exhibitions of Cook Week was the display of Polynesian artifacts in the H. B. Williams Memorial Library, collected by Captain Cook during his Pacific voyages. It was highlighted by a talk on Cook by Mr B. J. Greenhill, director of the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich.

This invaluable fellow is the Hawaiian war god Ku-Kaili-Moku, who was another star of the show.
