Guest Speaker From England
Highlight of the Gisborne and East Coast Camera Clubs' mini convention was the visit of guest speaker Hugh Lambert-Smith, president of the Whitby Camera Club, Yorkshire, England, Whitby being the town where Captain Cook became indentured to the sea. Mr Lambert-Smith gave one of the best slide-tape lectures seen in Gisborne. Delegates from Gisborne, Wairoa, Napier and Hastings attended the convention.
Frank Moss and Mike Jeal hang prints for the interclub competition and this was won by Hastings.
Don Gunn, Frank Moss, Mike Jeal, with Hugh Lambert-Smith set up the equipment for the lecture. Delegates at the inter-club committee meeting are, from left, John Sweeny, Ernie Smith, Jim Kerr (Gisborne), Hugh Gregson, sec., (Hastings), Phil Higgins, chairman (Napier), Ken Collins (Napier), and Ed Puddy and Bert Frith (Wairoa).
