Essay Awards

Entries in the Captain Cook essay competition sponsored by the Business and Professional Women's Club were of an exceptionally high standard. This year the venue of the presentation of prizes was the library where club president Joan Coates is pictured with the placegetters at left. They are, from left, Lesley Hawkins, (Lytton High) 1, Philippa McIntyre (St. Mary's College) 2, and Brenda Fairlie (Girls' High) who won a special prize for her entry.
