Helping Others to Help Themselves
Pupils of the Makauri School after selling papers and tea-coupons, and doing odd jobs, held a fancy dress competition. The money raised goes toward the Red Cross's Vietnam Welfare Teams' school stationery supplies.
The competition was won by Coralie Barron (right), while second was Robert Paviour-Smith.
Counting the proceeds of $3.46 is treasurer Chris Parker. At back are Red Cross committee Oho Brown, Peter Munro and Graham Tombleson.
Others taking part were Sally Paviour-Smith, Pauline Mills, Fiona Gordon, Bernard Poki, Hugh Gordon, Caroline Thornton, Raewyn Torrie, Alistair Gordon, Murray Michie and James Gambrill. With them is Mrs J. Martin of the Junior Red Cross.
