Good Going
The Intellectually Handicapped Children's annual appeal grossed more than $4,000 this year. This is most gratifying. It also proves that most people's hearts are in the right place.
The roof of the new hostel in Albert Street is now on and the painters have started work.
Helping to count the cash during the appeal are, from left, Tom Vaughan, Peter Candy, Tom Hill and Phillip Moore.
The A.N.Z. Bank in Midway was available as a depot and members of the staff gave up their Saturday morning to total the cash. From left: John Haynes, Peter Sharland, Frank Bray and Erle Tucker.
Paddy Pilbrow takes in collecting bags from Joy Wilson, Jacqueline Jones and Judy Bird.
