Camping Out In Comfort

The sense of adventure in camping out provided a great thrill for the boys of the St. David's Presbyterian Cub Pack on a recent weekend.

The comforts of home weren't too far away as they had the use of the Matawhero Youth centre building to stay in.

A hike, a sports meeting and a church parade were the main items in a crowded weekend.

Sixteen boys under the guidance of Akela Nicky Jones, A/C/L Colleen Love, and Lois Proudfoot, attended the camp.

In the standing jump at the sports meeting Clive Haynes takes off. Lining up to follow on are Stuart McKenzie, David Campbell, Gary Love, John Clough and David Lawton.

All that exercise takes energy. Here the boys replenish with a substantial meal.

Off on the hike around the countryside are the boys under the leadership of Mrs Jones (back) and Mrs Love.
