Camping Out In Comfort

The sense of adventure in camping out provided a great thrill for the boys of the St. David's Presbyterian Cub Pack on a recent weekend.

The comforts of home weren't too far away as they had the use of the Matawhero Youth centre building to stay in.

A hike, a sports meeting and a church parade were the main items in a crowded weekend.

Sixteen boys under the guidance of Akela Nicky Jones, A/C/L Colleen Love, and Lois Proudfoot, attended the camp.

All that exercise takes energy. Here the boys replenish with a substantial meal.

Scout Leader Mr G. E. Maddren supervised the athletic course for the meeting. Here at the high jump he is pictured with his son Stephen, and, from left, Stephen Coutts, Dean Mackie, David Markie, Brian Wilson, Dan Simonsen and Philip Mackie.
