Relief Societies' Convention

A large gathering of representatives from all districts attended the L.D.S. Relief Societies Convention held in the Chapel of the Latter Day Saints in Stout Street on Saturday, June 1.

A great variety of work by members was on display showing the way in which help is given to those who need it.

Representatives on the East Coast District stall were Sister M. Aupouri, Marie McCarthy, and Mesdames June Rangiuia and Lois McCarthy.

At the East Coast stall are Sister Margaret Paerata and Sister O. Aspenall. Sister Aspenall holds one of the rugs she made herself.

Sisters L. Whaanga and W. Gudgeon at the Gisborne No.2 stall. Sister Gudgeon is second counsellor to the society.

Dishes from around the world was the theme of this table attended by Sisters H. McGee and M. Whaanga, Mrs P. Ngaira, and Sisters S. Smith and T. Hawaikirangi.

The large massed choir ended the convention with a chorale based on the life of Christ.
