Overseas Visitors

A recent visitor to the city was a United Nations Fellow in the person of Mrs Dorothy Tsai Huang, Mrs Huang met representatives from many women's organisations and paid many calls to various centres of local social welfare works, inspecting their operations, and explaining in return the role of women in Taiwan.

Among the calls she made, Mrs Huang visited the home of Mrs H. Ngata where she met some of the members of the Maori Women's Welfare League over morning tea, discussed their work with them and indulged in a little Maori culture under the tuition of Mrs Ngata.
