Animal World Bulletin

The pups, and their mother, Snowlea of Carabelle, belong to Mrs Helen Cooper, 19 Dalrymple Road, while Snowfairy of Carabelle is owned by Mrs Dru Wood of Kaiti Beach.

Janet Shone and Judith and David Lee got quite a surprise when, they found this penguin, the surprising part being where they found it. It was looking a little tired and lost...right on the corner of Grey Street and Childers Road.

The first litter of Maltese pups to be born in Gisborne are shown here, with their cousin, Snowfairy of Carabelle. Believed to be the oldest purebred dog in existence, they were known in the time of the ancient Romans and, more recently, Julius Caesar. actually had them as pets.

These children with this fawn (found in the bush), make a charming study. Carol and Julie Spence find the fawn appealing but little Lyn Gordon is not quite so sure.

Rachel McCracken, daughter of John and Ruth McCracken, Napier, and grand-daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter McCracken, Hansen Road, recently spent her holidays with her grandparents. She was agreeably surprised to find that permanent residents Tibby (the cat) and Herman (the dog) are really quite good friends.
