The "Ruahine" made a sweeping call around the Bay recently. Here she sails in past Young Nick's Head to show off Gisborne the Golden to her passengers (the lucky devils!).

Dismantling this 'copter in readiness for shipping to the Chatham Islands for use in the crayfish industry are Murray White and Bruce Hutchinson. Belonging to Alexander Helicopters Ltd., the craft was sent south on the "Endeavour".

The first airlift of sheep from the South Island took place recently when 60 rams were flown into Gisborne by Bristol Freighter Destined for

properties at Te Karaka and Tolaga Bay the sheep were off-loaded on to trucks for immediate delivery to their respective farms.
